Yes. Compensation comes in many forms. Larger companies give the illusion that the candidate will have better long term job security

I really don't think so. I have worked in both and really don't find one more difficult than the other.

I disagree as getting Talents to join private companies is easier than public companies especially in Asia Pacific countries based on my experience.

Yes I agree that attracting talent for private sector is harder as compared to the public sector. The following are the major reasons for this:

  • Public Secotor has more job secutity
  • As compared to private sector accountability is strickter than public sector
  • Hire and Fire is common in private sector
  • Performance Reviews in private sector are too frequent
  • Public sector jobs are not as demanding as private

Of course, rewards in public sector are limited as compared to private sector. Therefore, confident professionals who have risk taking temrament prefer private sector.

Attracting talent depends in the contextual climate (regulations, competitive landscape, if there is growing location, profile of companies) of the area, part of the country or the country. For example Washington DC attracts talent for all type of organizations. Some people may be attracted to work for more stable jobs/long term jobs like for working in the public sector, while others prefer to work in other than for the public sector.

The bigger the company and its bureaucracy the less likely to hire efficiently or effectively for its talent needs.
