Being a nightmare for the business, this has a big impact on the citizens. At a certain point governments could find an agreement, however the longer this will take more impact will be on the business. Just think about the Huawei case. As mentioned in some article, the trade spat is turning in a competition for supremacy in technology and military too

I think and leaving the political sentiments aside, this is impacting both the countries. This the war between the biggest manufacturer and the biggest buyer.
For a common man's prospective I see things being more expensive down the line. Job cuts is another threat.
