I agree that a company is a legal fiction; what is real is a group of people that are motivated to implement the leaders' vision. That means that it is imperative to hire, retain, engage, and develop a workforce that will drive the business to success.
unfortunately, its easy to say the kind of things Wynn does and take no action to back it up. Every year SHRM, Gartner or one of the large consulting companies surveys business leaders. They say that people are their greatest asset. However most employees still report they are disengaged at work and would take another job if the right one came along ( see https://news.gallup.com/poll/188144/employee-engagement-stagnant-2015.aspx )
In order to follow through on a statement like Wynn's there has to be a well thought out people strategy to mirror the business/R&D strategy. Moreover funds need to be allocated to bring it to life
