I'm not sure of this but I am thinking if one's preference has not changed, I assume that they would still want luxury items, just not now. If the luxury item can be seen as an investment for future use, it can be marketed as an investment rather than for one's pleasure or leisure. However, given that budgets are tight nowadays, you may opt to allow partial ownership in proportion to the amount paid for a luxury item. For example, if I buy a luxury yacht, for 50% downpayment, I can probably use it for 6 times a year only. In that case, I still can use it but limited use. In that way, you can still sell it to them but with a delayed time frame. Once they finish the full payment, they can probably use its full features.
