Natalie Calhoun is the Environmental & Safety Manager for Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks with Delaware North. She implements Corporate, Federal, and Local environmental policy, laws, and programs. Natalie also oversees risk and safety for over 250 employees and a million annual visitors. Her solo projects include Zero Waste, Energy and Water efficiency, Risk Management, and Employee Training.
Previously a Climate Fellow working as the Recycling & Compost Associate for the County of Alameda. She also writes the Garbage Girl blog (www.GarbageGirl.Blog) to share her passion for waste diversion and reduction.
Natalie graduated from Connecticut College as a four-year athlete with a major in Environmental Studies and minor in Government. She was a selected Scholar of the Goodwin-Niering Center for the Environment and wrote a Senior Integrative Project on Municipal Solid Waste. She worked in the Office of Career and Professional Development for two years where she led career workshops and created new workshop content.
In 2015 Natalie completed her second twelve-week paid internship with municipal resource recovery company Recology Inc. in San Francisco, CA and Portland, Oregon, where she worked on business growth the government relations office. In San Francisco, Natalie led a pilot project in special event diversion auditing where she combined outreach, education, and field work.
