By way of brief introduction, I am a physician executive leader with 25 years’ experience in population health and health care management, with a career-long dual-focus — using knowledge and know-how to drive health care organization performance improvement through re-engineering solutions innovation for delivering Quadruple Aim defined health care value (i.e., meaningful, measurable, sustainable population health status improvement, at lowest possible cost, with optimal patient and provider experience) — and discovering new ways of using finite resources to better serve all system constituents, including patients, providers and payers.
Expertise in value adding population health and health care management endeavors encompasses: utilization management program design, development, executive oversight, and involvement in nationwide peer to-peer review across the full population age spectrum and commercial/government sponsored health care insurance sectors to assure provision of medically necessary, evidenced based, high-value behavioral health care; health care policy development and operational implementation; data/analytics and informatics application for delivering actionable clinical and business information, health care quality improvement, including promoting health related behavior change to close provider evidence-base/practice pattern gaps and improve patient adherence with recommended, evidence-based treatment; and provider network development and management.
My leadership approach in system-level performance solutions innovation and implementation is founded on a collaborative change management strategy — especially in provider practice pattern modification and disruptive innovation adoption scenarios, which necessitate customer relationship building and management through strategic value proposition communication that connects with values, beliefs and expectations of all involved stakeholders.
Physician executive roles for nationally recognized health care management organizations include Evolent Health, The Advisory Board Company, Optum Behavioral Health Solutions, APS Healthcare, Value Behavioral Health, and The Prudential Insurance Company.
In addition, I am Founder and Principal of Innovative Healthcare Works, a health care consulting practice leveraging over 2 decades of physician executive population and health care management leadership experience, focused on optimizing value of finite health care resources through evidence-based, health information technology enabled end to end solutions innovation and application, research and product development such as digital therapeutics, strategic value proposition communication, and building collaborative, strategic alliances with key opinion and thought leaders. I am also senior consultant with Open Minds Behavioral Health Market Research and Management Consulting.
