Chris joined the Monitor Group in 2004 to found a new business, Monitor Talent. Monitor Networks is a "human capital intermediary," as banks are financial capital intermediarties. In this role, Monitor Talent represents leading thinkers in business and science, and helps them bring their expertise to bear on business problems. (see www.monitortalent.com.) In addition, Monitor Networks adds to the consulting capabilities of the Monitor Group. The business plan is based on concepts discussed in Chris' and Stan Davis' book "Future Wealth."
Chris also consults and speaks internationally on the evolution of the economy and its impact on business. He has published books and articles on both the information economy and the coming molecular technologies of biotech, nanotech, and materials science.
Chris was listed among Consulting Magazine's "25 Most Influential Consultants" in 2001, and served on the Board of Technologists for Time magazine in 2002. With Stan Davis he has co-authored three books: Blur, (1998), Future Wealth (2000), and It's Alive (2003). His most recent book, Standing on the Sun (2012) was nominated by the Financial Times/Goldman Sachs for Business Book of the Year. He has also contributed to publications including the Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, MIT Technology Review, Fast Company, Wired, and Business 2.0, and has been quoted often in publications such as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Time, and US News and World Report. He serves on the Boards of Icosystem, LaunchCyte, Corey McPherson Nash, and the Massachusetts Interactive Media Council.
Chris holds a B.A. in both Mathematics and Economics from Brandeis University and a M.B.A. with Distinction from The Harvard Business School. In addition, he held a University Predoctoral Fellowship in Economics at the University of Pennsylvania.
