Enthusiastic, positive and highly motivated to pursue scientific research, academia and beyond. Following my undergraduate degree completion, I held a position at The Doctors Laboratory (TDL) Genetics as a Molecular Biologist where I learn the fundamentals of what it meant to be a professional diagnostic scientist, and apply my knowledge previously learnt.
Transitioning back into academia from TDL, I took a position at Imperial College London as a Research Technician in Professor Julian Marchesi' laboratory. This was a perfect opportunity to build my molecular laboratory skills, and learn from great postdoctoral researchers, a career path I am determined to follow. My primary role was running the MiSeq NGS for projects which required processing, from extracting DNA to library preparation and sequencing.
I am currently undertaking a PhD at Kings College London, in partnership with Danone Nutricia. My goal is to identify new ways to prevent fetal programming of disease, with a primary interest in manipulating the maternal gut microbiota in gestation.
I am positive and passionate about my work. If you love your job, you never have to work a day in your life; a famous phrase I very much believe in.
