I focus on user experience through a design-oriented lens at intersections of systems, cities, and technology. I'm passionate about using technology as a tool for design and linkage between cities and people, and work across disciplines to develop human-centered design solutions that impact the livelihoods of individuals and the communities they reside in. I'm an architect, designer, spatial thinker, and creative maker, who went from growing up in cornfields of the sleepy midwest to working on projects at the forefront of technology. I enjoy working in an array of international design contexts, with experience developing design solutions across West Africa, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
Prior to working as a design researcher for MIT and leading a team at Code and Theory, I worked on an array of projects spanning a modular housing urban analysis for new mining camp developments in South America to GPS-enabled bicycle helmets designed to navigate cities in the safest and most "hands-free" means. I am currently working on projects involving concept development for the Future of Work, Mass Transit and Mobility, Connected "Smart" Buildings, Neighborhoods, and Cities, including designing and strategizing for the Hyperloop (SpaceX launched), and an autonomous, on-demand mobile office that decreases traffic and aims to shorten the 9 hour workday by providing a productive space "en route" to the office.
I am actively looking for new collaborations and engagements - client challenges, design consulting, collaborative design projects, speaking on tech-related ventures and innovative projects surrounding the future of cities, the built environment, and scaling technologies.
