What is happening in Acute Care Hospitals related to On-Premises vs. Off-Premises/ Cloud storage for these types of systems?
On-Premises
⢠What are the benefits/value of On-Premises approach?
⢠What are the concerns/challenges of On-Premises approach?
⢠Why would a facility/system most likely decide to take an On-Premises approach?
PROBE: What are the triggers that make this a good OR bad decision/choice (e.g., patient information included, privacy risk, stability of system, etc.)
Off-Premises
⢠What are the benefits/value of Off-Premises approach?
⢠What are the concerns/challenges of Off-Premises approach?
⢠Why would a facility/system most likely decide to take an Off-Premises approach?
PROBE: What are the triggers that make this a good OR bad decision/choice (e.g., data and information able to be protected/secured, etc.)
PROBE: What is the tolerance/appetite for multi-tenet solutions vs. single tenet/private cloud solutions? Single tenet/private cloud solutions provide ability to do things like upgrade at pace/time of individual choosing (vs when everyone at once) ā how important is this?
Hybrid Approach
⢠Are some facilities/systems taking a hybrid approach? If so, what is going Off-Premises? And what is staying On-Premises?
⢠Are there some systems that may be partially On-Premises and partially Off-Premises? What are they? Are there any systems that could NOT be hosted this way?
PROBE: What is the tolerance/appetite for this type of approach?
⢠Within a health system, would some facilities take one approach and some another?
What are the concerns about security?
What are the concerns about privacy?
What are the most common ways to pay for Off-Premises/Cloud systems?
We are interested in exploring these questions to inform development of products, services and overall offerings.
