Sorry for confusion - we have a new heat system/source that is extremely efficient and lower profile and thus weight than anything seen before. We are looking at applications accordingly. Curious what the Convetit family thinks.
Hi Adam, Saw your post and it got me thinking about piezoelectric components and phase change materials. Is your application flexible or rigid? I’m thinking of cold weather gear with piezoelectric inserts that would heat with movement (no battery). Re: phase change materials representing a way of storing potential energy to be released as heat (but would need to be reloaded with energy at some point). Rob
Could you provide more context or explain your question more?
If, I am not wrong, this is generally done by determining Reynolds numbers and Grashof numbers in the medium. There are several numerical simulations methods/protocols/software {e. g. artificial neural networks (ANN), CFD simulations, genetic algorithms (GA) FLUENT 6.3} are available for determining complete temperature distribution. The obtained heat/temperature distribution chart (2D or 3D) is used for locating the heat sources in a medium. The heat sources are then distribute based on the target temperature requirement.

I think, it will depend on the purpose for locating it, as where as in modelling and simulation, whether using which algorithm or simulator, the purpose for doing it must be clearly defined.
