efficiency in Drugs Production
4 answers
There are many ways to measure KPIs of drug production such as production count, reject ratio, rate (or throughput), target, Takt time, OEE (overall equipment effectiveness), and downtime; but one of the most effective ways I've seen to improve efficiency across the board is to use visual management. These could be simple bulletin boards to large digital screens throughout the production line showing the process steps and their respective KPIs. This helps workers and managers have a better sense of how the line is working. It also gives them a sense of ownership because they can see how their good work can influence the numbers/charts.
Hi @philip. I totally agree with your point that visual management and reporting can realle make a difference and it can be a good idea to motivate your team as well.
To build on Philip's answer - I think production line performance can be best improved by the peope who run the line - finding measures that they own and can continuosuly improve is a great way to empower and engage a team. Equipment uptime and time between unplanned stops are two examples that can make a difference.
