Current price cap on Stents: Is it really helping patients ?


Currently in India;regulators have decided to put 27000 as maximum price for stents. I want to learn from all the experts here, is it really helping patients to get access to the treatment ?

Dear Dr. Nilesh,
Although the government has fixed the price for stents in India, the patients are not getting its benefit and most of the private hospitals and doctors are still charging them much more. So, the patients are not able to get the benefit and they still have to pay a huge amount for stent. I think there should be a strict law for this only then the patients will get benefited.
