A commodity is a product that serves the masses by delivering the same solution across the board. Healthcare customers are unique. They may have the same symptoms but an individual's values, goals and preferences differ. The recognition of a person at the center of care requires listening and problem solving. Can you imagine care without compassion? If so, then implement healthcare as a commodity.

It can't be a commodity. by nature each instance is unique. Practices can be standardized to some extent but "there are no laws in biology"...so there is always the possibility of an outlier. As Randi stated, each person at the center is unique and therein lies the differentiation for the care provider. Those that are able to align the healing goals with the needs of the individual will provide more value, and therefore become more marketable and in demand.
