Employees and their talents are vital to a business, so they should be respected and treated well. Many times the owner hires bad management and is not aware that the manager is treating the employees poorly. This is why managers should be very carefully watched to see if they are leading by examples, or just plain old bullying, taking advantage of their position.
Now employees and managers should all keep in mind that the business is the owners, therefore they should represent and respect the owner's business at the highest level, for everyone but the owner can be replaced.

To finally answer you question. Employees should make it known to the owner who hired the administration, aware that they are being treated poorly, if they do not receive a resolution (outside of a valid lawsuit), then they should work for someone else. For as I stated above, and this is sad to say, but the fact is that they can be replaced. Plus no one should want to stay on with a company that treats them bad anyway. Make your plan that is good and solid for you and your family, then leave.
