The poorest, living in the land closest to sea level, especially nearest the equator, and people living on the barely-fertile desert edges. Bangladesh comes to mind as particularly exposed, but low lying island countries and even Northern indigenous people like the Inuit are at risk first.

If you think we have a refugee problem now, just wait a few years.

I think refugee problem is not going anywjere, regardless. As long as economic difficulties for people exist, they keep moving some did evern 100 years ago and the mission continues. - Bo 55 months ago

I guess Holland will go under water as well.

Perhaps all mega coastal cities like Bombay, Karachi, Dhaka, Tokyo will go under water if sea level continues to rise. Some says that a raise of 3 degree might do this damage.

Middle east comes to my mind, world should be ready for the influx of refigees as Ski Milburn have suggested too, - Bo 56 months ago
Thanks Wasim Safdar and Bo Chen, sure all of us will be affected in some ways. The question is how well are we prepared? - Hassan 56 months ago
Hassan Qudrat-Ullah poor countries are at high risk and they have very little resources to prepare, not a good situation in the making. - Imane 56 months ago

We all will suffer. The migration caused by rising sea levels, lack of potable water the list goes on.

Globally the humidity levels will increase with additional surface area of ocean and fresh water which will make living conditions much less comfortable. This will also result in a higher latent heat load for residential, commercial, industrial, government buildings, etc.. which will result in larger HVAC Air Conditioning systems and higher energy consumption which will exacerbate global warming. Consequently, the strength of storms such as Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Cyclones, etc... will increase as well which will put coastal communities at a an even higher risk for damage and loss of life. Poorer countries will have a much higher propensity for a catastrophic events and could lead to a regional or global crisis with spread of diseases, land grab (via wars), anarchy, etc...,
