I would have difficulty in finding a threshold for quitting. It is rewarding initself and reinforces one's will to continue.

This is a very interesting question. Every body cannot help to any person. There must have such dedication and feeling or contribution so one can help other but he has to receive consequences.

Helping others is rewarding to some and not to all people, I think.

I´ll give my opinion as leader and help here means help others executives to suceed. Help others employess. I´ve being working in several different business ventures. What´s is behind is always a sense to help others (inside the mother company our third parts) and doing this for 15 years I discovery from global companies it´s a kind of leader the companies really need. (Servent leader) which are really interested to help people to move foward and help companies growth. From a personnal point view is terrible because sometimes you are not recognized for this and the ambitious and souless peoplet take advantage. Which now I understand is the 21th morale.
From a human side perspective where there is no money envolved is extremelly greatfull since you, in certain way, support a 3rd person feel more confortable and sometimes reduce uncorfortable feelings.
