Yes, more organic food will become locally available and more people will be employed, I think.

Hydroponics can grow healthiest food in large quantities in smallest space in a sustainable way. - Jatindranath 2 months ago
Also, it can provide educational trip for local school children. They can appreciate "green" at the early stage. The thinks we learn at early stage are often become solid perspectives later on. So, hopefully, green actions can be expected. - Imane 2 months ago
Well said, it is simply a win-win situation for all. - Bo 2 months ago
Hassan Qudrat-Ullah and Imane BOUKHATEM, agreed that organic food and green actions can be the biggest benefir of vertical farming. Howeverm we need a design of buildings that take into account this need actively. - Bo 1 month ago
A small aquaponic system can be a solution it doent require big space. We can have it even at small apartment. - Imane 1 month ago
Imane BOUKHATEM, this is an interesting solution, in addition to what Jatindranath Das and Hassan Qudrat-Ullah have suggested. Which city/country is this case? - Bo 24 days ago

The plant just needs select nutrients, some water, and sunlight to grow with soil-less gardening is called hydroponics, such as cucumber, tomato, capsicum, strawberry and leafy greens designed to grow crops in coastal megacities creating mass agriculture inside urban areas.

if our skyscrapers can be designed to accommodate Hydroponic farming, it would be a huge success for the dwellers. They ca enjoy high quality local food and support local economy.

New design can have the space for Hydroponic farming. Perhpes local coucils should enact some some laws in this regard, just a thought. Maybe building codes and chaning them is a much larger issue. - Bo 2 months ago
Much appreciated, Bo Chen. City governments should take the lead in this new design of vertical buildings. Also, builders and designers should collaborate and create space for this farming. - Hassan 22 days ago
Well, if they go for organic food, as suggested byHassan Qudrat-Ullah, would be a step in the right direction. I hope city managers and councilors take note of this. - Bo 5 days ago

Old air raid bunkers are being used in London. It's got to be the way to go.

Visually, psychologically & aesthetically smart, hydroponics is minimizing the ill effects of urbanization and allowing plants and greenery to re-enter our lives in a beautifully healthy manner...blessed are the horticulturists who have made this wow practice happen and flourish...cost effectively and scientifically!
