The other members prefer to not invite them? The USA and Canada would rock the boat too much and potentially destabilise a powerful money-making machine.

This appears as a odd things as many others are. They are big producers of oil but perhapes those in OPEC don't want their influence.

Maybe soon they will the members too., just a thought. On the other hand, the geopolitical influence that the US already have is enough. I am not sure if the US really wanted to join OPEC, there would be any significant resistance from existing members.
