5G
"5G networks are the next generation of mobile internet connectivity, offering faster speeds and more reliable connections on smartphones and other devices than ever before". A speed test overcame 1,4 Gbps in the US. The biggest barriers in Europe are the spectrum auctions with high costs for networks in some countries. Then there will be to face the customers adoption. Price, no 5G mobiles could be further obstacles.
4G was already 500 times faster than 3G, 5G is set to be 100 times faster than 4G.
What do you think about the adoption of this connectivity? Will this speed be an interesting added value or 4G was already enough? Are you ready for it, and in case where are you located?

5G is characterized by the following features.
EMBB: The Extended Mobile BroadBand features promise 1Gbps to 10 Gbps speed.
URLLC: Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications ensure that the round-trip latency is within couple of milliseconds.
MMTC: Massive Machine Type Communications support a Million devices per square kilometer.
The applications that can make use of such features are yet to come. Some potential applications are,
1 3Dimensional Ultra High Definition video transmission
2 Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality
3 Connected cars
Just like Uber or Whatsapp could not have been imagined in the time of 2G, the applications that can make use of 5G are difficult to predict. They could even be remote robotic surgery or replacement of fiber in the last mile.

I guess for private users 4G is suficient, as even with this you are able to watch Netflix or play mutiplayer mobile games.
5G is more interesting for the industry, as thanks to faster networks, organizations do not require anymore to install an owner internet network, but can connect machines directly via 5G to the Cloud. This including a higher number of sensors, as required for Digital Twins.
