As someone who has been training and speaking about childhood trauma to professionals who work with and support children. I can confirm that the majority lack awareness and understanding around it, even for children and young people who are in fostering or have been adopted.

Being trained to recognise and know how to respond to a child’s trauma based behaviour and needs isn’t part of any professionals basic training. This remains as a very real concern as it is so prevalent across society but especially in our most vulnerable children.
