How many internet connected devices do your children use?

By my own estimation the average American uses 3 internet connected devices every day and that number is rapidly rising. I am surrounded by a swarm of devices ranging from smartphones, tablets, digital assistants, and laptops. Adding in internet connected TV devices I get to 10 or 11 depending on the day. My children use 3 to 4 devices and they are under 13 years old.
With the pervasive nature of internet connected devices and the rapid expansion of both computer based/aided learning platforms, voice driven digital assistants and child focused smart devices where do we draw the line? Should parents specifically be proactive in safeguarding our children's privacy and safety with global access through numerous devices?
