It costs 5 times more to win a new customer than to retain an existing one. It pays to retain customers! Keep the communication open. Keep the offering fresh and ask questions. 'How could we improve our service?'
I should add that most business is lost due to indifference by the customer. Your service has become 'meh' but you continue to live on past glories.

Understanding your customers evolving pain points and making sure that your product is continuing to solve them. It was the relief of a pain point that brought them to you in the first place. If that pain point is no longer being relieved they will no longer value your product.
