Dementia, Polypharmacy and irregular sleep

Dementia has been strongly linked to sleep loss or restriction, and to oversleeping. While people especially the elderly have been linked with multiple prescription leading to the risk of polypharmacy, it will be interesting to know our thoughts on how the combination of multiple drugs in relation to dementia affects sleep?

Sleep disruption has a strong imp[act on dementia care.  From fatigue to "sundowners" syndrome, sleep disruption is problematic for the caregiver.  The impact of poor sleep on cognition is also significant.  Risks for pharmaceutical errors is exceptionally high.
