Can Payroll apps attract top talent?

401(k) programs have long been touted as a key benefits tool for attracting and retaining top talent. What has been your experience with using sophisticated & user-friendly payroll / HCM online / mobile apps as another tool companies can use?

I think its been a long time since a 401k was a selling point for a company. Now in my opinion, they are just part of the "necessary" package of benefits that an employer must include if they are to be considered competitive.

As far as being able to access your benefits on your phone, I do not think this is an add that is particularly interesting to employees. The only online tools I have seen employees use and appreciate are:
time card apps
expense report apps

Actually, I don't think an app of any kind can attract top talent. People join companies because they believe in the product or the values of the company. Unless the company makes the software for that app, and its a meaningful product an app is just a ho-hum tool - Ellen 63 months ago
