How do you think SMB can safeguard themselves against attack?

As many SMB has no IT or cybersecurity department, they rely a lot on the vendors or consultant to help them. How do you think SMB can protect against ransomware attacks or even insider threat?

Most SMBs, especially VSMBs outsource security to a local IT guy or VAR and rely on their advice. They also feel less vulnerable to attack, thinking they are too small to warrant the effort, I have done a lot of work and research in the SMB Market, interesting topic
