A lot of work is being done on that area. Wearable devices are one real example that you can see. FitBit, Apple Watch and Samsung watches are using IoT and AI/ML for various features.

Supply chain. Drones govern by IoT and smart algorithms are used for deliveries.

Another area that is growing is security. Security cameras and face detection is one use case. Very early though.

But if its done right - blockchain is something that can be a game changer.
