I'm looking for people who have first hand experience in research platforms to help convey the difference of Toluna and Currnt.com.

Toluna is closed ended surveys. Currnt is open ended explorations. Toluna stays surface level. Currnt can go as deep as the client chooses. I've tried Toluna surveys a few times and I am bored already.

Toluna seems to be all about gathering mass-market consumer views. I think it's wrong to brand it as an "Influencer" platform since it doesnt seem to be seeking specialists or people who hold expert/position power.
Currnt is about curating expert views from thought/industry leaders.

Toluna is consumers answering questions about products. Not about experts. Standard market research though using a consumer platform. Their influencers are more like early adopters and leading edge consumers.
