More and more regulators are asking for a GHG assessment to understand how these installations change the emissions from "business as usual." Over time, it would be wonderful if these assessments added other life cycle impacts such as water scarcity, changes in species diversity due to land use change and migration issues, and toxicity effects. These assessments can not only show whether the microgrid is an improvement for the environment, but once demonstrated, the benefits to human health can often offset NIMBY concerns.
