Enabling Responsible Patient Control and Satisfaction

What are the main hindrances to consumers of healthcare being able to shop based on current awareness of the costs and outcomes/quality available for the top 100 medical procedures and issues across many local providers? How might these hindrances be eliminated so that we can have a truly efficient market place based on competitive realities? How can digital information, such as provider ratings and cost comparisons, and digital transactions and payment methods, be applied to enable consumers to shop in this arena as they already do in many others?

Health Care is NOT Free Market

Repeat, HC is NOT free market. Not real, on-ground, digital, virtual or any other way if thru TPAs.

David... Perhaps if we start with transparency for cash payers and those similarly motivated by their 20-30% co-pays, employers and individuals will begin to push for the cost and quality data they need to make informed choices. Just because TPA's currently manage most insured groups doesn't mean we should give up on driving positive changes and true competitive innovation. - Don 64 months ago

Poltically-motivated dead-ends which further deaden market dynamics and ensure bureaucratic inefficiency and customer disatisfaction... all in the name of utopian vote-grabbing from those who benefit but don't pay... socialism as a way to "fairness"... how many times do we need to learn the lesson?! - Don 64 months ago
