Ive been in a senior global position for several years in the field of WH. I have also done work for 2 years looking at WH from a broader perspective: as a segment looking at women in different roles they fill and over their lifetime, and the different health needs that arise during the particular life stage. I'm a senior marketer in the industry for over 22 years with local, regional and global positions.

Over the last 10 years as a Lecturer and a Researcher I have been focused on understanding the mechanisms and developing new biomarkers and treatments for diseases affecting women's health, starting from breast and ovarian cancer to pregnancy-related complications such as gestational diabetes and preeclampsia. My research has led to two patents (one current and one in the process) and one know-how in relation to monitoring of women in pregnancy to predict the risk of preeclampsia and for the management of gestational diabetes. Our gestational diabetes digital platform was selected as one of the two finalists in the INVENT competition in Belfast, Northern Ireland. My job is based on keeping my knowledge up to date on the latest developments in the research and clinical field with the main focus on women's health especially due to the translational nature of my research.

My company creates technology-based solutions for busy women to live a healthier happier life. From my online software meal planner, A Healthy Passion to my online nutrition and fitness boot camp, TRIM we're passionate about using technology to create the future of healthy living. I'm a startup and small business and have built my entire business on a shoestring with small investors. I run a facebook group of 12,000 + women and have grown my business and brand mostly from social media + online marketing.

I am thought leader, Investor, public speaker and innovator of health and livelihood solutions for under-served women and girls globally. Building on my expertise as a mechanical engineer, a product designer, and empathetic communicator, I have put her unique passion to work in women's health world. In the process she built a brand, a growing product line, and set in motion a movement that addresses market failures, breaks taboos, and gives voice to the oft-ignored matter that is women’s health and underrepresented women in investment. I am the founder and CEO of ayzh (pronounced “eyes”), a social enterprise that began with janma, a $3 Clean Birth Kit in a Purse providing an infection free delivery. Having touched more than one million lives to date, ayzh has evolved into a global business. The company provides products and services along the entire reproductive cycle of women and girls that focus on improving their health and happiness addressing unmet needs in over 14 under-developed countries. For my efforts towards achieving the UN goals for women’s health, Zubaida has been recognized on an ongoing basis. Some of her recognitions of note are: a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, a Maternal Health Champion by Ashoka, a TED Speaker, Fellow, and Resident, and a Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Pioneer by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). UNGC in her recognition states, Zubaida is “demonstrating how the SDGs can enable business to unlock economic, social and environmental gains for the world.”

I am a Latina business-owner and leader in higher education. My professional practice focuses on issues of equity and inclusion based on our diversity. I am personally passionate about gender gaps in professional environments and ways in which these can be addressed. With a PhD in STEM and a undergrad in business, and over two decades of leadership in local and international institutions, I believe I can contribute as an innovator.
