Curiosity. I simply have to know. I grew up always taking things apart to understand how they worked. That was fine when the product didn’t work to begin with. Not so much when it worked perfectly okay.
Turns out, that was to be my recipe for life. When there is a problem, I am compelled to address it. I need to ask questions, understand the issues and why they exist. Then, I need to fix it.
During my many years in finance, I saw countless people who had been scammed by unscrupulous investment advisors. I created a company to help reduce that. It was later featured in numerous Wall Street publications and changed the ‘Public Disclosure’ arm of the SEC.
While in marketing I worked with law firms often focused on the ‘big score’ and leaving the fundamentals of building the practice behind. I fixed that by creating a legal services firm which helped to build their brand, income, & longevity.
When so many students were graduating but unable to find gainful employment, I got involved. I created focus groups of thousands and then developed a 2-fascet, SaaS style program providing all the solutions discussed along with several patented innovations. The result was a company selected and recognized as a ‘Must-See, Top Careers Site’ by Forbes Magazine. It also generated a nomination for the prestigious McGraw-Hill Award for Innovation.
One of the products of this same company was an award-winning interactive resume. It can be as brief or as comprehensive as desired. My own (admittedly too much info) can be seen at the following link (you may have to copy/paste it into your browser.)
